WINTER 2007 POLL:
"Primarily for NEG guys: How often, if ever, do you share HIV test results (on paper) with potential sex partners? (This means asking to see his results and/or offering to show yours)" (113 votes total)
  • I didn't know I could do that : 14%
  • Never. They're nobody's business but my own : 8%
  • Never. I don't save my results : 18%
  • Occasionally, but only if he asks for mine first : 11%
  • Occasionally, even if I have to offer first : 8%
  • As often as possible, but I don't consider it a requirement before sex : 13%
  • Always. I might as well put mine on a billboard! : 24%
NOTE: If these results are reasonably accurate it shows a healthy trend towards disclosing with proof. Still, there is room for improvement as 18% of the respondents claim to not keep their test results. Keeping your results is an excellent practice to get into and it could ultimately mean the difference between getting laid and getting rejected! Guys... what does it hurt to have proof handy?

SUMMER 2006 POLL:
"Primarily for POZ guys... If you meet a really hot guy in person or online and he tells you he is HIV-Negative, how likely are you to lie about your HIV status to get him to have sex with you?" (355 votes total)
  • I lie about my HIV status to potential tricks all the time : 9% (34 votes)
  • Very likely, depending on how badly I want sex with him : 6% (23 votes)
  • Somewhat likely, depending on how lonely, needy, or horny I am : 11% (40 votes)
  • Not very likely, regardless of how lonely, needy, or horny I am : 15% (54 votes)
  • I never lie about my HIV status to potential tricks : 57% (204 votes)
NOTE: It is encouraging to see that more than half the respondents to the survey are being responsible and honest about their HIV+ status with their sex partners. Let us do what we can to help the remaining 43% overcome their fear and anxiety about divulging their HIV+ status to ALL of their sex partners without feeling loss or guilt over doing so! HIV Plus Honesty will help end the spread of this disease!
